The LS1 created a revolution when first introduced as the new "Corvette engine". Its aluminum block and heads shed weight for improved vehicle handling and fuel efficiency. A leap in performance was achieved largely through a far better head design and electronically controlled coil-over-plug ignition.
We put together a great platform for someone looking for an aluminum LS with serious power that won't break the bank. As a long block, it can be finished with an almost unlimited range of custom touches in an LS swap. Alternatively, it can be a direct replacement for an LS1 that has grown old and tired.

This build features a seasoned GM block, 853 casting heads and crank that we tuned up on our CNC machines. Since the heads are so important in any LS, we gave them extra love on our Newen CNC seat & guide machine. Our CNC valve job includes unshrouding the valves, cutting all the seat angles and bowl blending. Check out the photos above to see just what this machining looks like. In previous testing, we saw a 25hp bump in power from this head work alone on an LS1.
We used Scat rods and Auto Tec flat top pistons to complete the rotating assembly. The heart of any engine is the cam and this one sports one of our customer hydraulic roller designs from COMP.
